A special anniversary season for…
Bekonscot opens its gates for a special anniversary season on Saturday 16th February.
August 2019 marks 90 years since Mr Roland Callingham welcomed the first visitors to the model village and railway he built in his garden. We will be honouring the occasion with a special celebration in the summer, so watch this space for further details.
New for 2019:
- Bekonscot New Town with its funicular railway and underground station has become a popular new addition to the village. Look out also for some other new models based on local businesses as they would have looked in the 1930s.
- The Education Centre has been re-branded as the EdShed and features some new interactive activities for our younger visitors as well as providing an insight into the history of the village and a hands on look at life in the 1930s.
- Make and Take Weekends will be held on the first weekend of each month throughout the season and on Mondays during school holidays. They provide drop in craft activities suitable for children from aged 3+
- Toddler Takeover. One Wednesday per term, the EdShed becomes a toddler friendly zone for the morning. Meet up with friends and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee.Holiday workshops where you can learn a new skill such as rag rugging will be held on Thursdays during school holidays. These bookable workshops last for 45 minutes and are suitable for children aged 7+.
